Our coffees are exclusively made from Julius Meinl's Espresso Créma. This coffee blend is made of coffee originating from Nicaragua and Honduras, using 20% Robusta and 80% Arabica beans. The two types of coffee beans create an inspiring and delicious work of art, with a round, balanced, smooth and persistent taste and a chocolate and toasty aftertaste.
All our coffees are available decaffeinated, as well as made with lactose free, or plant-based milks.
Espresso is made by forcing very hot water under high pressure through finely ground compacted coffee. The machine we have uses 88-92 °C water and 9 atm pressure. A portion of espresso is made of 7 g ground coffee. The ready product is approx. 30 ml coffe with a thick crema on top.
Caffè macchiato, sometimes called espresso macchiato, is an espresso coffee drink with a small amount of foamed milk. In Italian, macchiato means "stained" or "spotted", so the literal translation of caffè macchiato is "stained coffee" or "marked coffee".
An Americano is an espresso, diluted with approximately 100 ml of hot water.
Cappuccino is one third of espresso, one third hot milk and one third thick milk foam, topped with ground cinnamon or chocolate sprinkle. Served in a 150 ml pre-heated cup.
Chai is a spicey, tea-based drink. We prepare a strong brew, then pour thick milk foam to a tall glass and then pour the brew into it to create two distinctive layers.
We pour the syrup of your choice in the bottom of a tall glass, then fill the glass with hot milk and thick milk foam. Finally, we pour a shot of espresso into the glass, creating four, beautifully distinctive layers in the glass.
Please ask our colleagues about the available flavours.
We pour hor milk and milk foam to a tall glass, then slowly and carefully add a shot of espresso, creating three, beautifully distinctive layers in the glass. Macchiato means 'spotty' or 'stained' in Italian.
An espresso, diluted with approx 80-100 ml hot water.
The word 'mélange' originates from French and means 'mix' or 'mixed', referring to the layers in this drink. We prepare our melange by adding one fifth of honey to the bottom of the glass, then adding one fifth of coffee, topping it with three-fifth of milk foam.
A ristretto is a concentrated espresso. Due to the shorter extraction, a ristretto contains less caffeine then an espresso.
A flat white is similar to a cappuccino but is made with less milk, therefore retaining more of the coffee's original flavour.
